Providing individual therapy for adolescents and adults, as well as specialized parent guidance.

Individual Therapy:

People seek out therapy for all types of reasons.  While I have the experience and training to manage significant mental health struggles, including self-injurious behavior, therapy can also be valuable to talk through current issues, gain perspective, and simply learn more about yourself to improve your overall life.

I practice an integrative and eclectic approach to therapy, implementing techniques that include CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectic Behavioral Therapy), relational, family systems, and supportive therapy techniques.  In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my clients individual needs to help attain the personal growth they’re striving for. My experience and areas of particular strength include:

▪ Depression and Anxiety
▪ Adjustment Issues
▪ Relationship Problems
▪ Family Conflict
▪ Pre and Postpartum Health
▪ Parenting Support
▪ Grief and Loss
▪ Work and Career Stress
▪ Stress Management
▪ Addiction of a Loved One
▪ Trauma

Parent Guidance:

Parenting can be one of the most rewarding and challenging life decisions we make. Raising children offers a constant stream of joy, surprise, and worry, and this certainly doesn’t end once a child enters adolescence or even adulthood. It can be particularly painful to see your child struggle with mental health or behavioral difficulties, no matter what age that child may be. I believe that offering interventions specifically to parents can be one of the most productive ways to help a child during their times of need.

Parent Guidance is a form of education, support, and coaching specifically tailored to a child’s individual needs and delivered through individual meetings with myself. While similar to family therapy in some ways, Parent Guidance can offer parents a supportive and directive venue specific to the challenges of parenting. In addition to cultivating a better understanding of the child’s symptoms and behavior, Parent Guidance can include: active and directive problem solving; creation of detailed interventions, behavior plans, and contracts; coaching around implementations of changes, and creation of necessary treatment plans for the child. If you are the parent of a child, adolescent, or adult who struggles with any of the following, Parent Guidance may be a valuable resource:

▪ Addiction
▪ Self-Injurious Behavior
▪ Suicidality
▪ School Refusal
▪ Anxiety
▪ Depression
▪ Behavior Problems
▪ “Failure to Launch”
